Microsoft has a party lined up as we edge closer to holidays

A number of media firms claimed to have received an invitation from Microsoft this morning, as the company is all set for its grandstand event next month in New York City. The event is on October 6 at the Skylight at Moynihan Station, scheduled to start at 10:00 AM EDT. The agenda remains to be around the Windows 10 devices, with the company using the hashtag #Windows10devices to promote the event.
Microsoft would be unveiling a variety of hardware running Windows 10 including the Surface Pro 4, Lumia’s flagship duo, 950, and 950 XL, and the new Microsoft Band. The company is also expected to drop major news regarding the HoloLens “nerd helmet” as well, so there’s no reason for you to miss out on the event. With that being said, note that Microsoft did not give out names, or details of the products that will be unveiled at the event, although the official event hashtag speaks for what the company might have to offer.
The fact that Microsoft has chosen the Skylight at Moynihan Station suggests that Microsoft’s Fifth Avenue New York City Store isn’t quite ready yet for service, although it should be up-and-running in near future.
It would be interesting to see how the new Microsoft Band 2.0 fares at the event, given how it is unlikely to be running Windows 10 variants under the hood. According to sources, Microsoft has still affiliated it with Windows 10’s new hardware products. The device is expected to be the hybrid of a smartwatch and a fitness band. A major hardware design boost is expected before it gets presented before the world.
Microsoft’s launch comes only a month before Apple’s launch of the iPad Pro. This should heat things up between the two companies as the battle for leading the tablet industry gets heated.
